Senate expresses sorrow over Saudi King Abdullah’s demise

The Senate Friday passed a unanimous resolution expressing grief over the demise of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.

The resolution moved by Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Saudi Arabia. The resolution said the late King was a sincere and reliable friend of Pakistan.

It said Pakistani people will always cherish the warm support he extended to Pakistan in every difficult hour. It said the Saudi king occupied a special place and held in high esteem in the Muslim Ummah and the world.

It said the king will be remembered for ever for his efforts to promote inter-faith harmony. The House also offered fateha for the late Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and a former Federal Minister Begum Kasloom Saifullah.

The Opposition staged a token walk out over the absence of interior minister and minister of state for interior from the House.
