FIA to crack down on corrupt IESCO officers

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to launch crackdown against Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) officers involved in financial corruption.

A team of FIA led by Deputy Director Gulfam Nasir and comprising inspector Afzal, Niazi and Ghulam Rasul is investigating into corruption cases of IESCO running into million of rupees.

Preliminary investigation revealed that one WAPDA employee Imran installed electric pole at the cost of Rs 500,000 and one officer of WAPDA is also involved in this scam. The arrests will be made soon after the investigation by FIA is finalised.
