Lahore police has decided to withdraw the security provided to religious clerics.
Security officers have also been notified to recall the protection, while the relevant officers were advised to submit a report.
According to the police, Ulema were asked to manage their own security from now onwards as the protection the police had been providing them was about to end.
Ulema have expressed concerns and have asked Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of this new predicament, saying that it is the responsibility of the state to provide protection to them.
Why would a cleric need protection?…if they are truely men of God who would want to kill them?..
These so called clerics are on the "same page" with the C. M Shabaz (his own words). It is time they started living as normal human beings. Charity begins at home.
