The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has expressed its disappointment over the poor performance of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
MNA Ashiq Gopang presided over the PAC session and expressed disappointment over NAB’s performance when he was informed by the Bureau that despite the passage of 10 years, the Pakistan Steel Mill corruption case enquiry is yet to be completed.
“If an institution cannot solve a case in 10 years then how one can expect it to end corruption,” said Gopang. He added that NAB is sleeping whereas corrupt people are strolling around freely.
Meanwhile, MNA Abdul Rasheed said NAB enquiry will end on the day when the accused persons die their natural death.
Moreover, the committee summoned the chairman NAB for the next session.
What has NAB`s performance in terms of PPP period & now PML N period…how does one expects NAB to perform when the Chairman has been selected in by PPP & PML N, both largest recipient of corrupt money in each & every mega deal.
NAB = partial justice. Justice is swift towards the helpless and a person with no connections. Partial justice is worse than no justice at all.
In my view, NAB should be disbanded and the same powers should be given to FIA and FBR.
