Khurshid Shah says induction of over 10 ministers in caretaker setup is pre-poll rigging
PTI warns of moving court against PM’s decision

Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, who also holds the office of chairman of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Legislative Council, has given approval for inducting seven more ministers in the caretaker set up.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the caretaker ministers include Fauzia Saleem from Skardu, Zawar Qalb-e-Ali from Nagar, Abdul Jhan from Ghizer, Fida Hassan Zaidi from Ghanche, Bashartullah from Diamer, Attaullah from Astore, and Ali Murad Advocate from Ghizer.
Earlier Sharif had approved five minister including Sheikh Nasir Zamani from Gilgit, Inayatullah Shimali from Diamer, Haji Nehmatullah and Mushtaq Advocate from Astore, and Sanaullah from Skardu. The caretaker cabinet has now increased to 12 after the induction of the seven new ministers.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khurshid Shah has expressed concern over the inclusion of more than 10 ministers in the GB caretaker cabinet and termed it pre-poll rigging.
Shah urged the PM to remove the reservations of the stakeholders in this regard. He said that earlier three names were recommended for caretaker CM and setup but the PM had rejected the proposal and gave approval for five names on his own which was unconstitutional. He said that a well defined method was present in 18th Constitutional Amendment regarding constituting caretaker setup.
Commenting on the issue, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan alleged that the PML-N has facilitated its favourites in the GB caretaker setup.
He said that after consultation within the party, PTI will move the court against the decision. He said that PTI will resist any move of the government to weaken democracy and pollute the political environment in GB.
