The 111 Brigade has taken over charge of security of all the schools operating in Rawalpindi Cantonment.
According to details, the security of every school has been declared a top priority. On the other hand, the prices of barbed wire, metal detectors and CCTV cameras which are required for security arrangements have been increased manifold.
Barbed wire was available at the cost of Rs 80 to Rs 150 per kilogram ahead of Peshawar tragedy but is now being sold at Rs 450 per kilogram.
Cantonment schools have been divided into 10 categories in terms of security. 111 Brigade experts have conducted survey and issued directives under which the maps of school buildings and other information have been sought from school authorities.
Sources said that military authorities will issue clearance certificates in respect of two security guards to be employed by school management for security purpose. The salary, residence and uniform will be provided to the security guards by the school administration.
