Former head of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawwar Hassan on Sunday said that heads of Muslim states should react strongly to blasphemous cartoons. He said the Muslim ummah would continue to protest throughout the world as long as those who made blasphemous cartoons remain at large.

Addressing the JI rally in Karachi to protest against publishing of blasphemous cartoons in some of European newspapers, Munawwar Hassan said the magazines in some of the countries were continuously publishing blasphemous cartoons just to hurt the feelings of Muslims. He said the Muslim heads of states should react strongly to these cartoons and present Muslims’ case before the world. The JI rally started from Institute of Noor-e-Haq and ended at Quaid’s tomb in Karachi.

Addressing the rally, JI Karachi head Naeem-ur-Rehman demanded from the government of Pakistan to protest on global level against the publishing of blasphemous cartoons. He said the JI would protest throughout the country on 23rd of January against the cartoons and would hold million march in Karachi on 25th. Churches Society of Pakistan Chairman Manuel Victor also attended the rally and announced to protest against the blasphemous cartoons from the platform of minorities.
