JI chief Sirajul Haq has urged Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi to raise her voice in the UN against the publication of blasphemous cartoons in France.

Lodhi called on the JI chief on Sunday at the residence of JI deputy chief Muhammad Aslam. JI Foreign Affairs chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz was also present.

Haq congratulated Lodhi on her recent appointment to the UN. The two also exchanged views on the national and international situation.

Haq said that the world community must be made to realise that the blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) could not be tolerated at any cost and the UN must quickly move for legislation ensuring respect for all religions, the prophets and the revealed books, in the interest of world peace.

“Palestinians and Kashmiris have been undergoing the worst form of tyranny and oppression for the past six decades and deserve immediate attention of the world body,” Haq added.

Lodhi assured the JI chief that she would utilise her full capabilities to inform the world community of the problems facing the country.
