PTI mulls legal measures against party members who participated in parliament proceeding

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Shireen Mazari has said that no reply has been received from government’s negotiating team on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s demand for constitution of a Judicial Commission (JC) to probe poll rigging, therefore the party will re launch its protest movement from January 18.

“Our party is still ready to talk to government on the issue of formation of a JC but steps taken by the government reflect that it is not serious in establishment of commission,” said Mazari while talking to media at the National Press Club on Saturday after condoling with APFUJ President Afzal Butt on the demise of his sister.

She held that the government was persistently lying with regard to NA-122 constituency and Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed has been assigned to give “false statements”, alleging that the minister is “skilled in the art of presenting falsehood in the garb of truth”.

She underlined that the government has undermined unity among political parties and national cohesion against terrorism by not constituting JC.

To a question she said that members of National Assembly (NA) who had left PTI in hard times and participated in parliament proceedings have no more relevance with the party nor will they be taken back in the party.

“PTI is also mulling over taking legal measures for cancellation of their membership,” said Mazari.
