Dr Ijaz Rehman, the ex-husband of Imran Khan’s new wife Reham Khan, strongly denied allegations of domestic violence made by Reham in an interview to a local channel, UK’s MailOnline reported.
Reham, a journalist working currently with Dawn News, tied the knot with Imran Khan; the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a low-key ceremony on January 8.
Reham Khan revealed in a recent interview that she had been subjected to domestic violence during her marriage with Dr. Rehman, with whom she has three children.
‘Thanks to Allah, I am not scarred by my experience. Domestic violence is a big issue and no attention is paid to it in Pakistan. [It] happens in many shapes and forms,” Reham said.
“I have never spoken about my personal experience of domestic violence because I was in [the] media and I felt it would be unfair to expose the other party,” she added.
She also said that she was reluctant to accept Imran’s proposal because of what took place during her previous marriage, which ended in 2006 after 15 years.
“When I talked to my family about it, we all had the same reservations, especially because when you have been through such a horrendous experience,” she added.
Dr. Rehman, a 54-year-old psychiatrist practising in Britain, denied the allegations, adding that he has never hit anyone, and has never been involved in any kind of domestic violence in any shape or form.
“I always looked after my children and wife very well. My ex-wife had every kind of liberty. “I am surprised that these allegations were made,” he added.
“Domestic violence is a serious offence”.
“I work in a very senior position in the NHS (National Heath Service) and if I was convicted or charged or found involved in domestic violence, in any sense, I wouldn’t have been able to practice,” he clarified.

I full agree with Dr Ijaz .He is right.
Allah knows best, whether there was domestic violence or not, but why is it making headlines. Does anyone know name of any single of sixty five people burnt alive during this week? Laaanat ho aisi qaum aur newspaper per.
I agree what Dr. Sahb has admitted , he is righteous that's why he is still serving on high position ar NHS. Reham Khan and Imran both are liars , Both have contract marriage , Reham has served at BBC she might have agenda against our country , Imran is already serving Western interests , another western supported divorced and highly independent women has married with Imran . This marriage is a tragedy for us , because now these both will give Pakistanis a tough time , their agenda is to widespread disappointment and frustration across the Pakistan , After marrying i am sure Imran will lost what he has got in recent past.
