The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed petitions in favour of constructing the Kalabagh dam, and declared them inadmissible.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk presided over the case pertaining to the construction of the dam.

Lawyer of the petitioner, AK Dogar, said that the issue whether or not Kalabagh damn should be constructed has gone on for years. He moreover stated that the construction would prove to be detrimental.

He further said that political parties and provinces are not in agreement over building Kalabagh dam.

The court dismissed the case after hearing out the preliminary arguments declaring the petitions inadmissible.
