Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid on Thursday said that constitutional amendments were made in light of religious decrees issued by Imam Khana-e-Kaaba, Imam-e-Masjid Nabvi, Jamia tul Azhar and Pakistani religious scholars for eliminating terrorism from the world.
In a statement, the minister said ending terrorism unleashed in the name of religion would be an opportunity to remove baseless objections raised against Islam. He said terrorists used name of religion which made life of peaceful Muslims across the world miserable.
“Because of these terrorists, religious leaders are looked at with suspicion at the immigration sections of international airports,” he said.
The minister said those who were objecting to the law must also had studied the statements issued by the terrorists, asking whether even after this there was any room or basis for objections.
