Dense fog likely to subside over next few days

Dense foggy condition over the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh are expected to reduce during the next two to three days, while foggy conditions are expected on M2 (Lahore to Pindi Bhattian sector) during the night and morning hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported on Friday.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country; however, cloudy weather conditions with light rain (light snow over the hills) is expected in isolated places within the Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The temperature of major cities, including Islamabad, was recorded at 2°C, Lahore stood at 7°C, Karachi at 17°C, Peshawar at 4°C, Quetta at -3°C, Gilgit at -4°C and Muzaffarabad at 3°C.

Coldest temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours include Skardu at -12°C, Astore at -8°C, Gupis, Parachniar and Hunza at -6°C, Dir, Quetta and Gilgit at -5°C, Kalam at -4°C, Lower Dir, Kalat and Malamjabba at -3°C, Zhob and Risalpur -2°C, Chitral, Mirkhani, Bunji, Drosh and Dalbandin -1°C.
