*Ayaz Sadiq fortifies his lead against Imran Khan in recounting in NA-122 constituency

Recounting in NA-122 constituency on the orders of the Election Tribunal has proved that the rigging allegations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are hollow.

During the verification of votes it was found that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq bagged 78,377 votes while his opponent and PTI Chairman Imran Khan received 68,765 votes.

Highly reliable sources told on Friday said that the verification of votes in 234 polling stations had been completed and the overall lead of Sadiq has increased from 9,612 votes to 9,701 votes.

The sources further said that, surprisingly, PTI got lead in more than 50% of such polling stations where it claimed that 24,000 votes were fake as they did not carry either the stamps or the signatures of the presiding officers. They said these votes do not affect the result in the constituency as the votes had thump impressions and national identity card numbers.

During verification process, 735 votes of Sadiq were rejected while 849 of Khan’s were cancelled. Hence, the total valid votes obtained by Khan have come down to 67,976 against original 68,825 while Sadiq’s tally increased by 114 votes.
