The first meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be held under the new Chief Election Commissioner Justice Rtd Sardar Raza Khan today (Tuesday).
The meeting will be attended by the four members of the ECP, acting secretary and senior officials of the commission. Sources said that the CEC will be briefed on the holding of local bodies elections in the country and other important issues that are pending.
It is learnt that some members of the commission will present their view point about the demands by some political parties for their resignation. They would also inform the CEC about the constitutional provisions about their appointment and removal and their reservations.
