At least eight people were killed and 37 others, including five children, sustained injuries in fog-related separate road accidents across Punjab and Kohat on Monday.

Dense fog has engulfed the plain areas of Punjab which has disturbed routine life of citizens whereas the thick fog has caused various road accidents all over the province.

According to details, a bus coming from Karachi to Lahore collided with another bus at Khanpur Road near Chak 78 PK, Rahim Yar Khan. The bus collision has claimed two lives and left 13 people injured.

In another road accident, one person died and more than 20 people, including five children, sustained injuries due to the collision of two buses with a trailer in Okara.

Furthermore, four people along with one child lost their lives when a van collided with a tractor trolley. The accident took place when a truck struck a Suzuki van near Kohat University.

The dense fog at Bannu Road became the cause of injuries to four people including one woman.

Moreover, operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport were halted after thick fog in Lahore reduced visibility to near zero.

The zero visibility has also made it next to impossible for motorists, transporters and railway authorities to risk any sort of travelling.

The motorway was also closed for all kinds of traffic in the morning and motorists were instructed to avoid travelling or drive slowly and use reflectors if it was absolutely necessary for them to travel.
