Free Idiots attracts families at RAC

Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in collaboration with Q Communication has staged a family stage drama entitled “Free Idiots” to provide the citizens neat and clean entertainment facilities and uplift their intellect level.

The drama is written and directed by Salman Sunny while cast includes Imtiaz Ali Kashif, Saeed Anwar, Lubna Shahzadi, Imran Rushdi, Babar Abbas, Reha Yousaf, Naeem Tota, Mahwish Iqbal, Neha Qureshi, Akhtar Rashid and Noor. Renowned social worker Haji Gulzar Awan, Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed were also present on this occasion.

The drama revolves around Shamso’s family and his three sons Shahinsha, Alampanah, and Badshah. Drama is based on social issues along with the mixture of satire, irony and comedy. Shamsu’s sons are lazy and inefficient who always take loan on interest from Bala, a vagabond of the area. At last Bala demanded Shamso to sell his house to pay back his sons’ loan. He also threaten to lodge FIR against his sons but Shamsu appealed Bala not to do so. At the end his sons realize their mistake and felt ashamed.

Haji Gulzar addressing on this occasion said that it is a good effort to attract the families who are far from theatrical activities but dramas like Free Idiots will attract the families to come back to stage drama. He said that families must come to watch the drama which is full of serious message and comedy.

Naheed Manzoor said that efforts of Salam Sunny for revival of family stage drama are appreciable.

Waqar Ahmed said that the platform of RAC is to provide healthy entertainment to the families of twin cities. The drama Free Idiots will continue till Dec 28 at the auditorium of RAC.
