Street functions

In Pakistan whether it is a wedding or a funeral, tents are often used. Where these temporary structures suit one’s specific need and budget, they also cause catastrophic loss.

The biggest menace is associated with their installation. When erection process begins, stakes and anchors are driven into the ground. Insertion of pegs ruins the road. After their removal holes and cavities are left in the street, badly affecting both running vehicles and pedestrians. Moreover, vendors don’t follow any safety recommendation during tent pegging and taking them down. Sometimes there are public utilities, like underground water, gas pipelines and power lines under the location of the tent. Without any sitemap or plan, anchoring equipment are affixed on the ground that can ruin the infrastructure.

Once erected tents cover the street due to which the road or the street is blocked and others are compelled to take some alternative route. In addition to these issues, noise pollution from such functions and gatherings significantly destroy the peace of the people of the neighbourhood.
