A five-day training programme on “Global Warming and Environmental Hazards” at Capital Development Authority (CDA) Training Academy was successfully completed.

Participants from CDA Environment and students of environmental sciences from Iqra University, COMSATS University and Preston University joined the training courses, said a press release.

The main focus of the training was that the world’s climate is changing and will continue to change into the coming century at rates projected to be unprecedented in recent human history.

I was discussed during the training programme that the risks associated with these changes are real but highly uncertain. Societal vulnerability to the risks associated with climate change may exacerbate ongoing social and economic challenges, particularly for those parts of societies who are dependent on resources that are sensitive to changes in climate.

Risks are apparent in agriculture, fisheries and many other components that constitute the livelihood of rural populations in developing countries, it was discussed.

This course is especially prepared/designed to acquaint participants to handle the recent climatic changes and their after effects in better way.

Green Task Force Chairman Dr Jamal Abdul Nasir was the chief guest on the occasion.

He stressed in his speech that such type of courses are very essential for the development and enhancement by sharing knowledge. He highly appreciated the activities of CDA and offered full cooperation to enhance the knowledge to officers.

CDA Executive Director (ED) Sanaullah Aman said that on the special directions of CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal these training courses were prepared to impact training to officers from various fields.

Our destination is to provide training to all the employees of the authority regardless of grades and positions, he added.

Training is the only way to change behaviours and it is hoped that CDA employees equipped with training will contribute positively for the authority, he concluded.
