Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Deputy Director Ashfaq Alam on Sunday announced that the FIA had arrested seven suspects involved in human trafficking in last 10 days.
Addressing a press conference, Ashfaq Alam said the seven arrested suspects include escaped agents, foreigners and human traffickers. According to him, the suspects attempted to bribe the FIA officers with 5 lakh rupees but they had been arrested.
An agent who was illegally sent to Korea was arrested and the FIA recovered 18 passports from his custody. Another agent was arrested from outside the passport office. He was an expert in making fake passports and National Identity Cards for Bangladeshi nationals.
Several passports, ID cards, receipts and other documents were recovered from the agent’s custody. The passport office and the NADRA office are also suspected to be involved in the criminal activity.
