With an aim to extend all out support and expressing empathy with the Thar affectees, Pakistan Navy has established a five-day free medical camp at the Rural Health Centre DIPLO from Thursday for local populace of the area which would continue till 8th.
A team comprising of gynaecologist, dental surgeon, surgical, medical, eye, skin, ENT, child specialists and paramedical staff have been deputed at the camp which would provide skilled medical treatment to the patients in general health care, ENT, dermatology, dentistry, gynaecology and child care. For proper diagnosis, a laboratory has also been set up for blood, ultrasound and X-ray test. Team besides providing free medical treatment and free medicines to the patients will also conduct minor surgeries.
Apart from extending medical facilities, the camp is also aimed at educating local populace on public health, prevention of diseases, child healthcare, personal hygiene and sanitation of living area. Medical examination of school children will also be carried out besides advising parents and teachers on correctable disabilities and nutritional deficiencies. The medical camp is also aimed to assist civil medical authorities in improvement of health care delivery system.
Commander Coast Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmad visited the camp to review the facilities being provided and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements at PN Free Medical Camp. The Admiral also met the patients at the Camp and assured them that Pakistan Navy is fully aware of the problems being faced by the Thar affectees and remains committed to provide humanitarian and medical aid to facilitate them in this hour of need.
