Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, director general (DG) and others in petition filed against the appointment of NAB DG and sought replies from them within two weeks.
Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi of IHC took up for hearing Maj (r) Tariq Mehmood Salim versus Aalya Rashid case Wednesday.
Shoaib Shaheen, counsel for petitioner Maj (Retd) Tariq Mehmood, appeared in the court and told that the government has appointed Aalya Rashid as NAB DG which runs contrary to law and norms of merit. He told the court district government had not advertised the post of NAB DG and appointment of Aalya Rashid has been made on political considerations. He requested the court to declare appointment of Aalya Rashid as DG NAB void. He argued the petitioner is working as director in NAB and he has challenged appointment of DG NAB.
