National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has chaired a meeting at NAB Headquarters to review “Quantified Grading System” for regional inspection for the year 2014, which will be carried out in January-February 2015.
A senior member of chairman’s inspection & monitoring team gave detailed briefing about the grading system. According to the new Quantified Grading System, the performance of every regional bureau will be evaluated on the criteria formulated in the grading system.
A standard operating procedure (SOP) has already been devised along with goals and targets for smooth conduct of operational activities in accordance with Law and to bring further improvements in the performance of NAB regional bureaus.
It was highlighted in the meeting that Operational arms of NAB are its Regional Bureaus which are involved in field operations i.e. conduct of Complaint Verification (CV), inquiries, investigations, Prosecutions of cases at trial and appellate stages.
The regional bureaus will be evaluated at a given criteria 80 percent will be considered “Outstanding/Excellent”, marks between 60 percent to 79 percent will be considered as “Very Good”, marks between 40 percent to 49 percent will be considered as “Good”, while marks less than 40 percent will be considered as “Below Average”.
The NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that NAB has devised the comprehensive Quantified Grading System in order to review and further improve the performance of NAB.
After detailed deliberations, the chairman gave approval of the Quantified Grading System forthwith which will evaluate the performance of Regional Bureaus for the year 2014 on the basis of their output, strengths and weaknesses. This will create an atmosphere of competition among all the NAB Regional Bureaus and the performance of every officer will be judged on merit under the given criteria.
