The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has suggested the government to slash the price of petrol by Rs 9.65 and that of diesel by Rs 7.15 a litre for December.

The proposal also suggests a cut in the price of kerosene oil by Rs 5, light diesel by Rs 4 and HOBC by Rs 10.20 per litre.

OGRA is expected to forward the summary to the Ministry of Petroleum today (Friday).

If approved, the new prices of petrol from December will be Rs 84.54 and diesel Rs 94.06 per litre, kerosene oil Rs 83.52, light diesel Rs 78.37 and HOBC Rs 106.25.

The second big drop in POL prices is expected to pave way for reduction in prices of other goods and services, as transportation and fuel costs have direct or indirect impact on prices of all items.

  1. ITS A GOOD STEP BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS, HOW LONG THIS REDUCTION WILL SUSTAIN? IF ITS A POLITICAL TRICK THEN BETTER NOT TO DECREASE THE PRICE……. WE DON'T WANT TO BEAR AFTER SHOCKS IN FUTURE.
