Over 15,000 security personnel to be deployed for Nov 30 rally

More than 15,000 security personnel will be deployed in the federal capital for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally on November 30.

Islamabad police have enhanced security measures in the city and special duties have been assigned in connection with this gathering.

According to the sources, there will be tree-tier security in Islamabad Police, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) to protect the city and to avoid any untoward situation.

The security managers of the city including Chief Commissioner Islamabad, IGP Tahir Alam, SSP Islamabad Asmat Ullah Junejo have worked out a security plan which will be implemented on November 30 for safety to the people, the police source added.

A total of 10,000 policemen from Punjab & Azad Kashmir police, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary while 5,000 cops of Islamabad police will perform security duties. Policemen coming from outstation will be provided accommodation at police line headquarters, Hajj Complex, Sport Complex and community centers.

QRF teams will maintain high vigilance through patrolling while policemen will be deputed on various routes to avoid any untoward incident.

ITP staff would also remain present on various roads to avoid inconvenience to the road users and parking areas will be specified for the participants of the gathering.

Security measures will be taken to counter possible attempts to enter the sensitive areas and no participant will be allowed to carry arms and ammunition or any sort of weapons, batons or sticks through which people could be harmed.
