Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has urged the international community to understand and recognise the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), speaking in an interaction at Stanford, California in the United States, the army chief said that Pakistan has paid a huge cost in its fight against terrorism, giving sacrifices more than any other country in the world. He said Pakistanis are one of the greatest, bravest, and most resilient nations of the world, and they have resolutely braved the menace of terrorism.

“Pakistan, which is one of the grittiest as well as greatest nations in the world, is standing against the nemesis of terror as one man,” the army chief said while addressing a ceremony.

On the myriad losses incurred in terms of cash, kind and life, Gen Raheel said Pakistan had paid too heavy a price to keep the world safe.

“The international community has to make sure our sacrifices do not go unsung. Thus it is imperative for the world to admit what we have so far lost fighting at the forefront of this asymmetrical war,” the COAS said.
