Library of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has arranged a book fair aimed at providing an opportunity to the students and faculty members to purchase the books of their interest under one roof and to promote reading habits among the students.
National Book Foundation, Pakistan Academy of Letters and National Language Authority set up their stalls, displaying books related to Urdu and Islamic literature at discount rates.
FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir applauded the efforts of library staff for organising the event. She said that in the age when lots of socio economic problems were there in the society such book fairs within the university were beneficial.
“It’s an opportunity not only for the students but also for faculty members as they can purchase books at discounted rates. Role of book fair is vital to promote book culture in the society as books still remain the major tool for providing comprehensive and in-depth knowledge.”
