An Anti-Terrorism court-VII (ATC-VII) on Tuesday reserved its verdict in kidnapping for ransom case which was filed against Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) chief Afaq Ahmed.
The ATC-VIII judge reserved the verdict after recording the evidence and statements of witnesses, and hearing arguments from both the sides. The judgment would be pronounced on 25th November.
According to prosecution, it was charge against the MQM-H chief that he allegedly kidnapped one Jameel Baloch for ransom within limits of Korangi police station in 2001.
According to prosecution, victim Jameel Baloch was called at Bait-ul-Hamza, the then headquarters of MQM-H, where he was allegedly abducted and kidnappers demanded ransom for his safe release.
A case FIR 201/2001 was registered under Section 365-A (kidnapping to extort money) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Korangi police station.
