Rawalpindi District administration has reduced the fare of public transport plying on urban routes from seven percent to 10 percent and a notification has been issued in this regard.

However, citizens have voiced strong protest over the announcement of reduction of fares saying that this decrease is a “joke” and have demanded that the fares be reduced by Rs 5 at all levels.

Islamabad-Rawalpindi Muttahida Transporters Ittehad has announced to slash fares by 10 percent while fixing the minimum fare at Rs 14 and maximum fare at Rs 28 on all urban routes in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

A summary for reduction in fare of public transport plying urban routes of Rawalpindi and Islamabad was worked out in consultation with the transporters and sent to Punjab transport secretary.

Rawalpindi commissioner held meeting with transporters and persuaded them to cut off the fares.

  1. Transport authority please inform public about the seating plan and route fare so that they can ask for justice.
No authority is checking that either the public transports are completing the routes or not.
I am asking to authorities that what they will answer to Allah about their duties?
All the transport vehicles should display the route + fare + time to reach on every stop on the prominent place in vehicle and there should be complaint number for call and SMS for any trouble faced by passenger.
