Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday accidently stepped into Indian territory during a visit to the Wagah border crossing.
Qureshi stepped forward to greet Indian citizens and Indian Border Security Force personnel on the other side of the border and accidentally crossed the marked line. Pakistan Rangers personnel immediately informed Qureshi and he moved back. Soon after, the PTI leader joked, “I stepped into India” as someone in the backdrop added, “Without a visa.”
Crossing the border line and stepping into territory normally results in the trespasser’s arrest.
The PTI vice chairman was visiting the border to condemn the suicide blast at the site that killed 61 people on November 2.
