Khyber Agency: Five militants killed in latest purge by security forces

KHYBER AGENCY-

Security forces killed five militants and destroyed four of their hideouts in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency on Wednesday.

According to security sources targeted militant hideouts in  Drewand, Aarinam Wanra, and Zor kaley areas of Tirah Valley, killing five militants.

The militants were reportedly from  banned outfit Lashkar-e-Islam.

The claim could not be verified independently as media access in the area has been restricted.

Pakistan Army launched Operation Khyber-One around two weeks ago in Khyber Agency against militant outfits.

Khyber is one of the seven semi-autonomous tribal areas governed by tribal laws, and bordered by Afghanistan.

The area is considered a hub of local and foreign militants from terrorist organisations such as Al-Qaeda and Taliban.
