Police arrest 41 suspects in search operation

The Margallah Police Saturday arrested 41 suspects during search operation in its various areas including under construction plazas houses, slum areas and new localities, a police spokesman said.

Following the directions of Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam Khan and SSP Asmat Ullah Junejo, search operation had been initiated and the police along with contingents of Rangers are conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants and Afghan habitats also.

These measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security on the eve of Muharramul Haram and to keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements.

According to details, Islamabad SSP directed ASP Yasir Afridi for high vigilance in the area who along with Margallah Police SHO conducted search operation in Mehrabadia, Machar Colony, Afghan slums and sector F-10/3. Special teams headed by ASP Yasir Afridi nabbed persons could not produce any authentic document for their identity and further investigation was underway from them. They also recovered stolen gold, weapons and two motorbikes from them.

Police commandos including lady commandos, women police are also participating in search operations in various areas of the city while sniffer dogs are also being used in some areas.

These search operations would continue in coming days and a complete combing would be made of sensitive areas. Islamabad SSP Asmat Ullah Junejo has directed all police officials to extend this search operation in their respective areas and ensure fool proof security during Muharramul Haram.
