Left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman scored a first-innings half-century and finished with a match haul of nine wickets, as Habib Bank Limited crushed Faisalabad Wolves by an innings and 70 runs at the Iqbal Stadium.
After being inserted, Habib Bank managed to post 332, thanks to fifties from Fakhar Zaman (69), Asad Baig(72) and Rehman (50). Imran Ali was the pick of Wolves’ bowlers, taking 3 for 94, while Faisal Yasin, Fahim Ashraf and Shehroz Raza chipped in with two apiece.
Wolves, though, failed to gather any momentum in their response, and were bundled out for 166 in 62 overs. A few of their middle-order batsmen made starts, but none could produce more than 36, as Rehman collected 4 for 65 to secure a massive 166-run lead. Habib Bank enforced the follow on, and subsequently wrapped up a big win in 36 overs as Wolves collapsed again. They were dismissed for a paltry 96, as Rehman took 5 for 53 and Umar Gul 4 for 19, to complete the victory inside three days.
