The alleged mastermind behind the robbery at Edhi Centre has been held in Karachi, a private news channel reported.
According to the report, police sources said that a raid in Korangi area was carried out on Saturday in which the man believed to be behind the robbery at the Edhi Centre headquarters in Mithadar area was arrested.
The suspect, named Mazhar, was reportedly wanted to the police for several robberies across the city.
On October 19, Pakistan’s much loved and renowned philanthropist Abudl Sattar Edhi and his staff were held hostage by robbers who then looted cash and gold worth millions kept in the safes at the Edhi Centre’s head office.
The incident outraged Pakistanis who hold Edhi in highest esteem for his charity work throughout the country.
Senior government functionaries including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had condemned the incident and directed immediate arrest of the culprits.
