Government gives green signal to 14 new development projects

*Funds to be spent to develop Eco-Tourism in Soan Valley at Khabeki and Uchali Lake District Khushab

The Punjab government has approved 14 development schemes of various development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 12155.173 million.

These schemes were approved in the 19th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi, said the P&D spokesman.

P&D Secretary Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, members of the Planning and Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.

According to P&D spokesman, the approved development schemes included: Feasibility Study for Installation of Cable Cars (Murree) (Phase-I) (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 188.52 million, Development of Eco-Tourism in Soan Valley at Khabeki and Uchali Lake District Khushab at the cost of Rs 200.715 million, Installation of Chairlift from Khar to Fort Monore District DG Khan at the cost of Rs 849.726 million, Feasibility Study and Design for Development of Surface Parking at Chitta More Murree (also for Parking Facilities at General Bus Stand, Lower Topa, Bansara Gali and IDMC-I)-Feasibility Study (Phase-I) (3rd Revised PC-II) at the cost of Rs 70.693 million, Urban Rehabilitation and Infrastructure Improvement Project (Package-II, III, IV) at the cost of Rs 1701.710 million, Laying of RCC Sewer from Shoukat Khanam Hospital Chowk to Sattu Katla Conduit Drain, Lahore at the cost of Rs 1672.000 million, Feasibility Study for Construction of Solar Power Plant for WASA Faisalabad (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 15.29 million, Groundwater Monitoring, Management and Regulation in Punjab (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 75.00 million, Rehabilitation of Ahmadpur Branch with its System at the cost of Rs 1897.026 million, Concrete Lining of Bahishti Disty RD:0-64300 (Tail) and its System, Muzaffargarh at the cost of Rs 335.61 million, Construction of Sowerra Dam Project in District Attock at the cost of Rs 918.882 million, Rehabilitation / Raising of Qibla Bandi Dam, District Attock at the cost of Rs 324.896 million, Management of Hill Torrents in Irrigation Zone, DG Khan-Sori Lund, Vidore, Mithawan, Kaha and Chachar (Vidore Hill torrents, Chhabar, Phulaar & Suchani Branch) at the cost of Rs 3071.862 million and Rehabilitation of Drainage System of Development Division in District Bahawalnagar at the cost of Rs 833.243 million.
