Sarmad Khoosat, the director of various admired serials in Pakistan, popular for his acclaimed drama “Humsafar” has offered his first ever leading character movie role to actor Fawad Khan, for his debuting movie.

Sarmad has had immense success in the drama industry of Pakistan with the audience and critics’ positive feedback on “Humsafar” which was an immediate hit starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan and their chemistry on screen, which drove not just the fans, but the ratings off the charts.

Now, Khoosat has decided to take a step forward in his career and move on to directing films. Since the drama serials are being televised in India, Sarmad was interviewed by Times of India and was quoted to remark “I like Fawad as an actor and a star but our approach and our process of working don’t match and for me the process of filming a drama or a film is more important than the outcome”

Fawad Khan who has already been in two movies, a local production “Khuda Kay Liye” and his recent Bollywood debut “Khoobsurat” for which he has received raving reviews and immense appreciation and is ranked high, on local and Bollywood film makers casting list.

Sarmad Khoosat was also quoted to say, “Our actor-director relationship was extremely nice till Humsafar but after that I had reservations about a few things with him.”

From Sarmad’s interview it was clear that he was not inclined to be working with Fawad Khan but with his debuting movie offer being made to Fawad, it seems that his mind has been changed for the better.

  1. This is ridiculous! From 13th October till today Fawad was not on the radar screen of Sarmad. The interview with TOI gave an impression he (Sarmad) does not give a damn about Fawad, but I am surprised to read the news today. Sarmad you are an amazingly and funny. Was your interview with Indian media an eye wash or you too are "Charty suraj kai pujaree" (worshiper of rising sun) And the people being fickle, and ever ready to worship the rising sun, clapped their hands and cried, 'Twala is king! Now we know that Twala is king!' – (King Solomon Mines)

  2. Is Fawad in this film, or not? Is this reliable news? I would like Fawad to concentrate on the offers coming his way from Bollywood for now. Fawad is a brilliant actor who has received rave reviews for his Bollywood debut. He is in high demand now and should cash on it. Not saying that he shouldn't accept Pakistani films, but to prioritise Bollywood films, for at least 2-3 more films.

    • Yes, working in bollywood would be good for him because of the money and him establishing himself in bollywood. But, as a viewer, I would prefer him working in a Pakistani movie over bollywood any day, simply because of the content. Whatever work he has done in Pakistan, both in tv and Khuda Kay Liye have been high on quality, and he has performed to the best of his potential. Can't say the same about Khoobsurat. That was one crappy film. And I seriously doubt if Bollywood can offer quality scripts to him with a quality director. So yeah, would much more excited for a Pakistani film.

      • I would want Fawad to do more Boolywood films for all the reasons you've stated, and also for the fact that he can detract audiences from the massy, loud films so more sensible and realistic ones. But Fawad appears to be the one to change the trend in Indian films. His new venture Battle of Bittora has a plot which is very different to the regular Hindi films. I'm sure Fawad will bring in a fresh feel to Bollywood by choosing roles which can highlight his talent and will also prove to path breaking.

        • sorry, but why all of a sudden INDIANS has statrted to take interest in pakistani actor of what he has to do or not you rather concentrate on actor like siddharth mol. ,varun who , i thing are on avg. on acting scale.

          • Indians are concentrating on Pakistani actors because they happen to appreciate genuine talent, whether it is from India, Pakiatan or any other part of the world.

          • actually you take your advise up to yourself, b/c fawad recently been found stating, that his core audience lies in pakistan.

          • No one is disputing that Fawad's core audience lies in Pakistai. It is it natural because he is from that country. But that does not mean he shouldn't take up any overseas projects, or that Indians shouldn't appreciate him or want him to act in their films. Let's not forget that Khoobsurat broke records at box office collections in Pakistan, and that is a Hindi film, made in India. We should think beyond boundaries, especially when it comes to talent. How does it matter if Fawad wants to work in Indian films when both Indians and Pakistanis equally enjoy his films.

      • What a lying ullu ka pathaa sarmad is!! Its obvious hoe he is Trying to ride on fawads fame which will get him some magazine space in india…. bhangeeee miraseee !!!!

  3. Sarmad Khoosat ki shakal poori khoosat lagti hai… if he could he would cast himself but look at the pic …

i am impressed with Fawad. Looks like he is Wagah Border and Pyiyanka and Megha are pulling on him on Indian side and Shahzaib pulling on him from Pakistan side. Kaash ke mai Fawad hora …

You guys keep it up. I am looking forward for next Fawad's Venture whether it is from India or Pakistan.

    Jugnu

  4. Please someone make it clear to me…. IS SARMAD KHOOSAT BIPOLAR???!!!!
i swear i aint kidding when i say a few days ago he said he dint want to work with fawad…
Perhaps this guy is suffering from some kind of personality disorder..or alzheimers…or maybe a sort of critical yet unlisted “nafsiati bemaari’ !!!!
