Traders Welfare Association I-8’s office bearers take oath

Former Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) President Abdul Rauf said that most of the issues of traders were related to the civic body while current Capita Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal and Member Admin Amir Ali Ahmed were working hard to provide better facilities to the citizens of Islamabad.

The former ICCI chief urged CDA to address the issues of business community on priority. He was administering oath to the newly elected office bearers of Traders Welfare Association, I-8 Markaz, Islamabad as the chief guest.

The newly elected Traders Welfare Association Islamabad I-8 Markaz President Raja Fiaz highlighted the various issues being faced by the traders of the area. He said I-8 was one of the modern sectors of the federal capital, but was facing many problems.

The area was facing water shortage as the tube wells were not working and commercial areas of the sector were without public toilets. Due to the ongoing work on EOBI project in I-8, roads were also in broken condition and he invited the attention of CDA to resolve these issues. He also sought the cooperation of ICCI for urgent redress of traders’ problems.

Former ICCI senior vice president and acting Traders Action Committee Islamabad Central Organizing Secretary Khalid Chaudhry said that traders in Islamabad were united, however, some vested interests were trying to sabotage their unity. However, he vowed that all such efforts would be foiled. He said soon a meeting of the local traders would be called to discuss their important issues.

Raja Fiaz, Ali Shan, Muhammad Aziz Baloch, Nauman Mukhtar Bhatti, Raja Saad Akhtar, Asif Aziz Bhatti, Nadeem Ahsan Bhatti, Muhammad Hussain Toori, Raja Amir Riaz, Arshad Khan and Dr Arshad Chief took oath of their portfolios from Rauf.
