Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Monday that the Sindh government had played an important role in improving law and order in Karachi a number of notorious terrorists were arrested in the operation carried out under the supervision of the provincial government.

Speaking at the Sindh Assembly (SA) session, the CM said the Karachi operation was indiscriminate and not directed against any particular party. Only most wanted criminals had been arrested, he added.

“Our government has arrested many notorious target killers including the members of political parties and I can name the parties and the killers if forced,” he said.

Shah said that more than 250 PPP workers were also killed in the city and the party had rendered sacrifices more than any other political party. He again asked for better and friendly relationship with the MQM.

He said the MQM had levelled allegation against the PPP and it was his duty to explain things and defend his party. He said PPP leader Khursheed Shah had explained and apologised over his statement on the word “Muhajir” on the same day.

“Both Bilawal and Zardari have always insisted over the need of politics of reconciliation,” he said, adding the party could not tolerate attacks on the PPP leadership,” he added.

The PPP equally loves Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabad and Nawabshah, the chief minister added.

It may be pointed out that the MQM had pulled out of the Sindh government after what it said uncalled for criticism on the party and its chief Altaf Hussain by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
