Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed filing another petition on the loss caused to traders due to sit-ins in Islamabad.

As a single bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minullah took up for hearing petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Jahangir Tareen against imposition of Section 144, Justice Minullah remarked, “The court will do see it if the responsibility of loss caused to traders rests with both of the political parties or district administration.”

Anjuman-e- Tajran Pakistan President Ajmal Baloch, Shoaib Shaheen, Niazullah Niazi, counsels for PTI, and Additional Attorney General (AAG) Afnan Karim Kundi appeared in the court.

The PTI counsels told the court that district administration imposed Section 144 in Islamabad for two months. The court had suspended this notification of imposition of Section 144 during its previous hearing. Therefore, practically it stands no more in place practically.

Baloch told the court the traders have sustained financial loss due to the sit-ins by PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and it is responsibility of court to ensure repair of this loss.

The court directed Baloch that he could file a new application on loss suffered by traders. The counsel for federation told the court that cases are pending hearing in Supreme Court due to dharnas.

The hearing of the case was adjourned indefinitely.
