Three people lost their lives while 10 others were injured in an accident between a van and a car near Thana Bola Khan on Super Highway on Saturday.

According to the police, a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) convoy of Matli, Badin district was on its way to Karachi for a public meeting when near Thana Bola Khan, one of the vans went out of control and hit a car and overturned.

As a result of the accident, three PPP workers identified as Jamal Dasti, Bhoro Shaikh and Ismail Khaskheli died while 10 others received injuries.

The deceased and injured persons were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro and Hyderabad city branches where the bodies were handed over to their heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities. First aid is being provided to injured persons who have been admitted to different wards of the hospital.

COULD BEAR THE HEAT:

Meanwhile in Karachi, an elderly supporter of PPP died of heat and humidity while standing in a queue for snap checking at Shahrah-e-Quaideen in Karachi for PPP Co-Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s public address.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Jhandu Khaskheli, a resident of Umarkot city of Sindh. Eyewitnesses said that the PPP supporter died due to severe heat and humidity. He was given first-aid but could not survive and breathed his last before he could be taken to a hospital. His body was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

CAUGHT UNDER SUSPICION:

Separately, the police arrested a suspect from PPP rally and seized a counterfeit police identity card found in his possession.

The police stopped and search a bike rider on MA Jinnah Road and recovered a fake police identity card from him while the accused presented himself as a private company employee. The man has been transferred to an unidentified place while the police have started to investigate the matter.
