The Upper House unanimously passed a resolution Friday paying tribute to Pakistan’s youngest Nobel Prize laureate MalalaYousafzai, for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
The resolution was tabled by Awami National Party’s (ANP’s) Haji Adeel, congratulating Malala on behalf of all political parties in the Senate.
The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly to 17-year-old Malala who hails from Swat and India’s Kailash Satyarthi.
Malala leapt to global fame after Taliban militants tried to gun her down in October 2012. She survived the attack and was shifted to United Kingdom for treatment and is residing there with her family ever since.
