Shahid Hayyat’s services were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Thursday and he has been appointed as FIA director, Sindh.
Hayyat was appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the beginning of the month, October 4, but he has been removed just 12 days of assuming the charge.
Hayat had previously been removed from the post of AIG after a Supreme Court decision termed him in-eligible for the post since he had been appointed to a Grade-21 post despite being an officer of Grade-20. the Sindh government has said that the FIA had requested for his services for the agency. Hayat is one of the officers who had initiated targeted operation in Karachi.
