An eye-witness in the case pertaining to the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid has identified two suspects for their involvement in attack on the PTI leader who was gunned down on May 18 last year.
The suspects identified by the eye-witness were Rashid alias Master and Zahid Abbas Zaidi whose physical remand was recently extended by an anti-terrorism court, reported a private TV channel.
The two will be in police custody following which the investigation officer (IO) will produce them before the ATC along with a progress report on the case.
The prosecution says the senior PTI leader was gunned down on May 18, 2013, inside her home in Karachi’s Defence House Authority (DHA).
Following her killing, a case was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 at the Gizri police station. Junaid Bukhari, Tariq Nawab and Asif alias Ganja are absconders in the case.
