Islamabad short of cops for Muharram security

Islamabad Police is facing shortage of staff for Muharram security duty.

According to sources, most of the police force is deployed at the anti-government sit-in in the federal capital therefore the Capital police is facing shortage of staff for security duty during Muharram.

In view of this situation it has been decided by the district administration and police authorities to seek the help of the Frontier Constabulary.

It has been learnt that the Islamabad Police requested the Punjab Government for additional police force but the Punjab government refused to comply, saying that it had already sent its contingents for providing security at the sit-ins and could not afford to spare any more policemen during Muharram.
