Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has refused to accept the joint investigation team (JIT) formed to investigate the murder case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the killing of three PAT workers in Islamabad on Aug 31.

Addressing participants of the Inqilab March, Qadri said “We will only accept an unbiased JIT for investigating the killing of three PAT workers. The new JIT should comprise two officials each from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and police,” he demanded.

Qadri said they would not accept officials of Punjab and Islamabad police departments in the JIT therefore the police representatives should be taken from other provinces in consultation with PAT leaders.

He lamented that Lahore Police had set free Gullu Butt “whom the entire world had seen causing unrest in Model Town on July 17”. “Gullu Butt is the true face of the PML-N government,” he said.

He slammed the government for declaring Islamabad sit-ins to be responsible for economic instability in the country, saying that the rulers rob national wealth, place incompetent people at key posts and declare the sit-ins to be responsible for the outcome of their wrongdoings.
