QUETTA-

Security forces on Wednesday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the residence of Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) leader, Shahzain Bugti, in Quetta, a private news channel reported.

Shahzain, son of Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti and grandson of slain Akbar Khan Bugti, is chief of JWP’s Talal faction.

The reported quoted officials saying that the JWP leader’s house in New Al-Gilani Road was raided by Frontier Corps and personnel of anti-terrorist force who recovered a huge amount of illegal weapons and ammunition, including rockets, detonators, remote-controlled bomb devices and explosive material, from inside a water tank.

No arrests have been made in the raid, it was added.

Shahzain was arrested in December 2010 when illegal weapons were recovered from his convoy near Quetta. He was released a month later but his name has since been placed in the Exit Control List (ECL) to restrict his movement.
