Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi has assured Pakistani diaspora for timely resolution of their problems.
The Federal Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation comprising Mr. Majid Khan, Lord Mayor City of Stoke on Trent UK, Ch Karamat former Lord Mayor of City of Stoke, UK and Mr. Kabir Ahmed, businessman who called him here on Tuesday. Senator Talha Mehmod, Chairman Standing Committee on Interior was also present during the meeting. Managing Director Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Mr. Habib ur Rehman Khan and senior officers of OPF attended the meeting.
The delegation highlighted various issues and problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis especially in UK. The issues pertaining to Pakistani prisoners in UK, property related disputes and issuance of NICOP from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The Minister welcomed the delegation and apprised them about various initiatives being taken by the Ministry and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their dependents. He informed the delegation that the government is giving high priority to the resolution of problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis as they are ambassadors of the country and plays an important role in country’s economy by sending handsome remittances annually. He informed that OPF has already established NADRA Swift Centre at OPF Head Office to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and their dependents. He further apprised the delegation that overseas Pakistanis can register their complaints online through OPF website.
The Federal Minister directed the MD, OPF for timely completion of all OPF housing projects and redressal of complaints of overseas Pakistanis on priority basis.
He assured the delegation that all efforts will be made to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and their dependents as per mandate of the Ministry and OPF.
