*PTI chief says will wrap up sit-in if Prime Minister Sharif declares assets
*Urges CJP to take notice of police crackdown against protesters in violation of IHC’s orders
*Tahirul Qadri says few days left for PM’s ouster
Warning of a bloody revolution if people are denied justice, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan Tuesday urged the judiciary and Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk to safeguard fundamental rights of Pakistanis and democracy.
Addressing his supporters at Azadi March sit-in, Khan said that the upcoming Friday would be marked as ‘Go Nawaz Go’ Day and a ‘Day of Deliverance’. The PTI chief said he would continue the protest movement till Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns, vowing that he would spend Eidul Azha in his container.
“Today is the 34th day of the protest and there has been an increase in the participation of the masses,” he claimed.
Khan further said that he would burn his electricity bill on Friday to remind the rulers that they have doubled the power rates. This announcement comes amidst reports that the PTI chairman had actually paid most of his bills since the civil disobedience movement was announced.
Khan said that he would go to court today (Wednesday) to get arrested PTI workers released.
“The constitution of Pakistan allows for peaceful protests. Why then have PTI workers been arrested?” he questioned.
“Police, which is supposed to assist the masses in getting justice, is instead working for the rulers and going against the law,” he claimed.
Throwing a challenge to PM Sharif, Khan said he would call off his party’s sit-in if the former declares all his assets.
He said that PTI’s protest is not unconstitutional as PTI has proof of poll rigging and election tribunals were unable to deliver justice for 16 months after which the party took to the streets.
Alleging that the authorities are hiding the exact number of people who were killed in clashes between police and protesters of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Khan said, “The administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has kept 17 bodies at the hospital so the number of deaths are being concealed.”
Khan blamed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for giving orders “to torture innocent people” besides warning Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Tahir Alam that he will not be allowed to get away with his actions once the Sharifs are gone.
“The rulers are taking the country towards civil war,” Khan said.
He said that he shall not be able to hold his people for long and all his supporters are ready to fight the police. He added that placement of containers violates IHC’s orders so the protesters shall remove all containers.
QADRI’S ALLEGATIONS:
In the meanwhile, addressing participants of PAT’s sit-in, PAT Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said that the incumbent rulers have made the nation’s future “bleak” through endless corruption.
“All corrupt leaders unite in the parliament to protect their wrongdoings,” adding that that at least 70 parliamentarians had landed in the present assembly in contradiction with the Constitution.
He said that the present system is actually a “looting practice” which will have to be transfigured for the sake of “real democracy”.
Lashing out at PM Sharif, Qadri said that in the 1990s Nawaz had plundered national wealth to the tune of Rs10 billion.
He alleged that the rulers are doing business with the capital of the nation while pushing the poor towards further poverty.
“The so-called PM could not dare to meet the flood-stricken people during his recent visits as he feared a backlash,” alleged Qadri.
He said that Sharif seeks to establish an election commission of his choice in Gilgit-Baltistan in order to set up his government there but “the people are raising ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans everywhere in the country and there are only a few days left till the PM departs”.
Go nawaz go
Nothing new NS and family is the King ruling family. Today Mrs. Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam tried to fly their maid/cook in business class on a PIA flight to London. Look into the family of King who take their cook with them when they go to Europe on holidays. This is the state of my Pakistan and the rulers.
No change in any system of Pakistan is possible or viable unless Sharifs are changed and replaced in PUNJAB and PAKISTAN.They are symbols of status co,corruption, nepotism, centralization of powers, bad governance, spending public money on showy mega projects instead improving basic infrastructure of health, education, roads, dams, prices of daily consumables and running one man show. IK has given a very valid challenge to declare their assets. Why electricity rate has been doubled. Neither Sharifs nor his ministers give specific replies to his sound allegations. Instead all conies abuse him.
