Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Saturday said that the government can arrest his party workers or torture them but nothing will stop the creation of a ‘Naya Pakistan’.
Addressing his supporters at the Azadi sit-in venue, Khan said: “Nawaz Sharif grew up in the nursery of a dictator and does not know the Pakistani nation.”
The PTI chief claimed that he would make an example of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for ‘misusing’ the police against peaceful protesters and general public.
“No matter how many policemen are deployed by the government to sabotage the struggle of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), time has come to materialise the dreams of a country where masses would enjoy equal rights,” he said to a charged gathering.
Khan said that the nation would never forgive the “so-called leaders of religious parties” for making derogatory statements against female participants of the PTI sit-in protest, adding that these religio-political leaders would not be able to win a single seat in the next elections.
Training his guns on the police chiefs of Punjab and Islamabad, the PTI leader said he would take to task the police officials who were involved in arresting his supporters at the behest of the Sharif government.
Khan said that once in power, he will adopt a much simpler and leaner form of government.
“I will first bulldoze the Governor House in Lahore. Then, I will turn the Governor House in Peshawar into a park and make the Governor House in Nathiagali a five-star hotel to generate revenue for the welfare of the poor,” he said.
Two days ago Khan had announced that he will share the names of the killers of MQM MPA Tahira Asif and Balochistan Minority MPA Hendry Masih on Saturday but he did not make any statement in this regard during his address.
