The Punjab government has reportedly rejected Rs 100 million offered by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government for the relief of flood affectees.

Thanking the KP government for the offer, the Punjab government said that it can take care of its people on its own.

KP Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani said that such steps will lead to tensions amongst the provinces. He added that the aid was for the people and not for the government. “The rationale of the decision of Punjab government is beyond our understanding,” Ghani said, adding that KP would also reject Punjab’s aid, if offered.
